| ANALYSIS |
The Giants shored up their linebacking depth with the selection of 24-year old Bryan Kehl out of BYU. A four-year starter, Kehl is also an outstanding special teams player who can play either strong whose presence gives the Giants an additional playmaker on special teams. Kehl can play inside or outside and has shown ability to always be aroudn the ball. |
GAIL & RON'S SCOUTING REPORT
|
Finished 2007 with just under 100 tackles, 11 for loss, four PBU, four sacks and three
interceptions. Has a frame to add bulk. Team leader, high character guy who is said to work very
hard to improve his game. Plays hard and intelligently with good athleticism and top speed,
explosiveness and quickness. Accelerates quickly and smoothly. Instinctive, reads the field and
reacts quickly. Has good range and takes good angles to the ball. Has good body control. Physical
style of play, pursues downfield with enthusiasm. Usually in good position to make the play and is
a sound tackler. Good jumping ability to go up and deflect the ball. Generally stacks and sheds
effectively. Can drop into coverage with very good agility and loose hips.
Not a top athlete. Needs strength and bulk, struggles at times to disengage from big or strong
blockers. Looks a little awkward on the move. Will be 24 years old when he enters the league due
to serving a two-year church mission.
Shrine game: One of the guys who stood out in practices. |
