ANOTHER STRAHAN OPINION. Giants MLB Antonio Pierce today in an interview with Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts of WFAN, was asked if he thought DE Michael Strahan would be back with the Giants this year. "I don't think so," said Pierce. "The guy's a great player. He's made tons of money, he's a champion and he's been in the league for 15 years. His credentials speak for themselves. I think the only thing he'd come back now for is to keep building on top of (his accomplishments)."
In the past, WR Amani Toomer opined that Strahan would be back. However Strahan has not yet decided on his future and many people believe that the only way Strahan comes back is if the Giants give him more money in this, the final year of his contract. Strahan is scheduled to make $4M in base salary in 2008.
GIANTS GIVE DIEHL A NEW CONTRACT. According to a report on ESPN, the Giants have replaced LT David Diehl's old contract with a new six-year, $31M contract with escalator clauses that increase his annual base salaries between $750K and $1.1M as long as he remains at tackle.
MORE ROOKIE FA SIGNINGS. The Giants announced that they have signed four rookie free agents: wide receiver D.J. Hall and defensive end Wallace Gilberry, both from the University of Alabama, defensive end Antonio Reynolds of Tennessee and safety Nehemiah Warrick of Michigan State.
