Strahan Reaches Out to Reese
DE Michael Strahan has had a couple of conversations with Giants GM Jerry Reese these past couple of days and could be reaching a final decision on whether to continue his playing career within the next 24-48 hours.
Injury Update. The following players did not work in this practice and will not play in the preseason finale against New England: Safety Will Demps (elbow); FB Robert Douglas (meniscus/scope); LS Ryan Kuehl (calf), CB Sam Madison (hamstring); WR David Tyree (wrist); CB EJ Underwood (jaw); and LB Gerris Wilkinson (knee).
The following players did not practice today but are listed as day-to-day and could see time against New England: DE Adrian Awasom (hip), WR Plaxico Burress (back); CB Kevin Dockery (hamstring); CB Gerrick McPhearson (ankle); LB Kawika Mitchell (abductor strain); OL Grey Ruegamer (ankle)

WR David Tyree will o miss 4-6 weeks with a broken left wrist; surgery scheduled for tonight. Also FB Robert Douglas is going to have his knee scoped, which means Reuben Droughns will see time at fullback on Thursday night as will TE Michael Matthews. No timetable on Douglas' return, by the way.
DT Marcus Bell was placed on IR with a knee injury.
Transactions: WR Will Buchanon, LB Karibi Dede, DB Richard Yancy, OT Myniya Smith, and OC Nick Jones were waived; TE Rodney Burgess (shoulder) was waived/injured; if he clears he could end up on the Giants IR list. EJ Underwood (jaw), whose season was thought to be over, might not be done after all according to head coach Tom Coughlin.
Plaxico Burress was in the City today to have his back examined. Burress' back was apparently the reason why he didn't participate in the Jets game Saturday.
CB Gerrick McPhearson has a badly sprained ankle which will probably keep him out of action for a couple of weeks.
Also missing practice: OL Adam Koets (unknown), who had a post game X-ray taken after the Jets game and appeared to be waling gingerly; OL Grey Ruegamer (ankle); DE Adrian Awasom (abductor); P Jeff Feagles (back); CB Kevin Dockery (unknown); S Will Demps (elbow); and LS Ryan Kuehl. Kuehl was seen today walking around without crutches, which is a positive sign.
