THE OFFICIAL REVIEW: SUPER BOWL

First Half
The Giants got a bad break on the spot on Faulk’s run that resulted in afirst down. The ball should have been placed a yard upfield from where it was placed. The spot could have been challenged.

Despite the comment by Joe Buck, the foul against Pierce was not for faceguarding, which does not exist, but for DPI. Pierce made contact with the receiver before the ball arrived and he was not looking for the ball.

Toomer should have been called for a push off on the long pass down the sideline. But it is a Super Bowl and the  tendency is to let those things go.

A ball may not be batted forward in the field of play and in any direction in the end zone. The Illegal Batting against Bradshaw was an excellent call.

Second Half
The Illegal substitution challenge and call was a good call. Blackburn had to contact the out of  bounds area before the snap for him to be off the field.

Giants got a break on the false start by Watson. The call should have been against the defense.

Mitchell could have been called for a hit to the head against Brady.
